HORSHAM Hawks Under-11 basketball team are celebrating after winning the Sussex League on Saturday.
The young Hawks, pictured, rounded off their season with an impressive 82-30 victory away at Henfield Heat to finish the season unbeaten.
And the side have their eagle eyes on a double, with the opportunity for a second trophy when in the play-offs after the Easter break. Hawks take on Henfield Heath in the semi-finals, with the winner playing either Brighton Cougars or Worthing D&D.
And in what turned into another highly successful weekend for the club, Hawks Under-14s defeated SWRA Storm 87-61 at Tanbridge School.
Jonathan Walsh returned from long-term injury to top score with 28 of Hawks’ points, while not far behind was Haylee Miller with 22 points, while Max Dodd hit 21 points.
They continued played some excellent basketball throughout, which has been a hallmark of their season and with Miller scoring the final two baskets, they finished with their latest 80 point plus haul.
Coach Nick Probin said: “This really has been a great season with a terrific squad of players who have worked very hard but most of all who have worked as a team and who are looking forward to the play-offs in a few weeks.
