A BLISTERING first half display saw Horsham rugby club march into the RFU Vase second round with a stunning win 31-25 against Honourable Artillery Company.
The Green and Whites scored all their points before the break, and although HAC hit back in the second half, Horsham had enough to hold on.
Liam Yates, Sam Rice (two), Dan Bourne and Sam Bell scored tries as Horsham took a 31-5 half time lead, only to be pegged back by four HAC scores in the second half.
It was a notable scalp for Horsham, with HAC who are flying high in the early London North West 3 table.
“It was a very good victory,” coach Nick Stocker declared. “I am very happy with the way we played against a team who have done exceptionally well this season. We were excellent in defence and attack.”
