Young kart racer Harry Mailer made an encouraging start to his first season in 125cc Mini Max karts .
Racing for his new team Zone Racing at Forrest Edge near Camberley, Harry put a incident-packed 12th place finish in the first seven-lap heat behind him to claim a two second place finishes and put him fourth on the grid for the final race of the weekend.
The Partridge Green 12 -year-old had benefited from advice from his team, and took his more aggressive approach into the last race.
By the eighth lap, Harry was second, just a second behind the race leader when Kart 36 spun into him. Harry took evasive action via the grass, dropping to eighth.
A gritty finish saw Harry retake two more positions to finish sixth, promoted to fifth after a post race inquiry which saw Kart 36 excluded.
