Horsham curbed a three-game losing run in Ryman League South with a valuable point in a 1-1 draw away at Ramsgate this afternoon.

In blustery conditions, Byron Napper’s 54th-minute goal, where he put through the goalkeeper’s legs from six yards, looked to be sending the Hornets to their first league win in six.

But the hosts levelled for a share of the spoils with 16 minutes remaining through Dean Hill.

The result leaves Horsham second from bottom in the table and five points from safety.

Horsham: G.Williams, Hamilton, Gilbert, Charman, King, Nwachukwu, Napper, Morley, Smith, T.Williams, Ampleford, Smith. Subs: Tarbie, Bidgood, Akandi, Hills, Marriott.

Full report and reaction in Thursday’s paper.

Horsham now host Worthing in the second round of the Sussex Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
