SOUTHWATER racer Jolyon Palmer can’t wait for this weekend’s GP2 rounds at Silverstone and the chance to perform in front of his home crowd.
The 20-year-old is aiming to secure his maiden points finish in the Formula 1 feeder-series when rounds nine and ten play out alongside the British Grand Prix from today to Sunday.
Jolyon, who is racing in his first season of the series with Arden International, has already enjoyed a string of impressive results with two top ten finishes to his name, but is eager to go one better this weekend.
As well as Silverstone being his home circuit, Jolyon is confident having shown great pace during pre-season testing at the 5.891km Northamptonshire circuit, during which he looked quick in both wet and dry conditions, finishing second fastest in the opening session.
Jolyon said: “I’m looking forward to Silverstone as it’s my home race and a track I know very well.”
