Southwater’s GP2 racer Jolyon Palmer is banking on home advantage to inspire a second win of the season this weekend.

Jolyon, who drives for the iSport team in the Formula 1 feeder series, heads to Silverstone, where he will race in support of the British Grand Prix.

And the 21-year-old, who collected his maiden GP2 win at Monaco last month, knows the Northamptonshire track well, having won there in 2010 on his way to finishing runner-up in the FIA Formula Two Championship.

Jolyon also hopes to bounce back after a frustrating weekend at the last round in Valencia where he ended with two non-finishes during two very eventful races.

“Last time out was a disastrous weekend in terms of racing, all stemming from an incident at the start of race one,” Jolyon recalled. “I am now going to put the dramas of that weekend behind me and focus on Silverstone. I enjoy the track there, I know it well and my team have had success there.”
