JUSTIN Luchford has demanded his Horsham team stay strong at the back as they search for a first home point of the season tomorrow.
The Hornets are without a Ryman League win since August 27, and have slipped into the Premier Division’s relegation places. And ahead of this weekend’s visit of Metropolitan Police, Luchford wants his men to stand up and be counted.
“We just need to be defensively sound and eradicate,” Luchford said. “One thing that is obvious about this division is that strikers will score a goal if you make a mistake - in the Ryman South sometimes you can get away with it.
“Going forward I know we will score goals, but you do not win if you can’t keep clean sheets.”
The Hornets have availability concerns over Louis Hollingsworth and Yinka Salami (family) and Ray Freeman (hamstring).
Luchford added: “If we get Louis back, it will be a big boost.”
