Horsham ladies believe a result against St Albans in the EHL Conference East this weekend could set them up for the season.

Having taken four points from their opening two games, Horsham travel to Hertfordshire with confidence, but know maintaining their unbeaten start will require another fine performance against the much fancied hosts.

“St Albans are one of the strongest sides in the league,” coach Paul Johnson said.

“We played them in a friendly before the season started and drew 0-0 with them but this will be a different game entirely.

“It’s an important game because it will give us an idea of where we’ll be as we come into the Christmas break, so if we can get a point or more we’ll be in a strong position.”

Horsham Men’s Firsts begin their league season this Saturday at home to Brighton & Hove II (3pm start at BBH).
