Two-time West Sussex KO Cup winners The Martlets recovered from a slow start to beat Ashington as they eased into the last eight.
Captain Malcolm Rollings, Gareth Bevan, Marc Lancaster and Jack Rollings went 7-1 behind early on to Ashington’s Jess Hoole, but some steady scoring from the Billingshurst-based visitors saw them eventually win by three shots (18-15).
On the second mat, The Martlets’ four of David Thorpe, Chris Blackman, Chris Rolph and Mel Lillywhite were utterly dominant, dropping just six singles throughout the 21 end match to win 30-6.
The Martlets will face Ashington’s other team, who beat Southbourne, in the quarter final.
At Henfield, Southwater won on two of the three mats going on to win the match. Tony Woodard, John Bonwick, Brian French and skip Don Puttock were in fine form finishing +21. Kath Bennett, Judy Butler, Enid French and skip Rob Ayling finished +1.
