Entries open for Alf Shrubb memorial race

Entries are open for the Alf Shrubb Memorial 5mile race in Slinfold on Sunday October 7.

Run in memory of Slinfold’s former multiple world record holder Alfred Shrubb, the third edition of the race has attracted entries from across the country.

The winner of the inaugural race and course record holder Nathan Shrubb, who is one of Alf’s distant relatives has entered again this year. So too has one of the county’s leading runners, James Baker of Chichester runners, so the course record may be under threat.

The race is open to serious runners and the not so serious, so if you can run over miles over scenic country go to www.sussexraces.co.uk where an entry form can be downloaded. There are also children’s races prior to the main event. Anyone who would be willing to assist in the marshaling of the race should call 07774286456.

Children’s races will precede the main event at approximately 10.30 am, and there are medals for all competitors in all races.
