Teenager Dominic Fritche made history at the 2012 Storrington Lawn Tennis Club Senior Tennis Tournament Finals.

Dominic, who turned 14 just days before the finals, became the first junior in the club’s 74 year history to win the Men’s Singles Title. He beat the previous three-year holder of the title, Alex Rainbow, in the semi-final and then in the final was victorious over Scott Wolters, a three-times finalist and last year’s winner.

More than spectators watched a fantastic match as Dominic dominated from the start and never lost his focus and concentration, as he won

He has been coached entirely by the head coach at Storrington LTC, Nigel Matthews. He said: “I am very proud of his achievements and I am looking forward to working hard with him over the winter, to raise his game to even higher levels.”

Dominic also won the mixed doubles title on the day with his sister, Romey, 15. They are both pupils at The Weald School in Billingshurst where they have been congratulated by the school and will have a special mention in the Student News.
