FRAN Crossley led the rout for Horsham Hockey Club’s Ladies first XI as they put their England Hockey league woes behind them at the weekend.
Rock bottom of the EHL Conference East, the Sussex Cup had some respite on saturday as Horsham thrashed South Saxons 13-0.
Horsham settled early with Fran Crossley converting a Shiv Aherne drive and cross from the right wing.
Next, Louisa Denman drove from the left channel setting up another for Crossley. Horsham were able to relax into ‘practice ground’ moves readily switching the ball from left to right wings creating many circle deflection chances provided by Heidi Meniss, Jess Dean, Louisa Denman and Shiv Aherne and converted with precision by Steph Dent (three) and Crossley, who took her tally to six.
Skipper Shiv Henn was able to push high and aid the attack, scoring one goal from a short corner. Dean dispatched a penalty flick for 11-0 and a further two goals from short corners by Dean and Crossley wrapped up the scoring.
