The latest opponent to face Crawley’s WBO Intercontinental Featherweight champion Ben Jones has been revealed.

Ben ‘Duracell’ Jones, who lives in Capel, will face Belarus fighter Dzmitri Agafonau at York Hall on Saturday February 27.

Jones is the star name on the undercard which also includes two southern area title bouts.

The show, billed as ‘Clash of the Titans’, is expected to be a sell out at the popular Bethnal Green venue.

The fight is part of Jones’ intense preparation for his forthcoming title defence, which is expected to be announced within the next week.

His manager Kaz Evans, of Assassin Boxing, said: “Ben’s been training hard since the turn of the year and is looking as sharp as ever.

“It was always our plan to get him back in the action before he defends his current title and we’re very happy to get this sorted as it will be play a big part in his preparations.”

With whispers and rumours flowing in the Crawley area, Evans remains tight lipped on announcing when and where Ben’s big title fight will be.

Evans said: “I’m getting asked this a lot at the moment which is brilliant as it show’s that many people are looking to get behind him on what is potentially the biggest year of his professional career.

“Myself and Graham Wright are working around the clock to get everything confirmed for the title defence in what we are hoping will be a huge sporting event for the local area. I hope to be in a position to go to press next week with some exciting news.”

Ben’s ever growing fan base in Sussex and Surrey have already purchased a large amount of tickets for next week, but there are limited amount still available.
