Captain Pat Johns said: “The course played very differently from the past few weeks – the round was very slow, so staying patient and playing well paid good dividends.” The Division 1 squad will hbope for a solid finish to the season when theyh face Singing Hills.
And in Division 3, Cottesmore beat East Sussex 4.5 – 2.5. Captain Margaret Swatman said after the match “Many thanks to all the team, and in particular Gail Fee who won in spite of not being a hundred percent, and Irene Wake who, playing her first match back from injury, sank a lovely long putt on the 18th in front of an audience of both teams hushed on the balcony to clinch her game and the match.” The squad, which also inclides Margaret Swatman, Karen Stafford, Peggy Beadell, Pauline Kirkman and Sandra Morfey, with reserve Mary Grange appears to be in an unbeatable position with qualification to the Quarter Finals now well in their sights.
