A DOMINANT Horsham Blue Star Harriers made sure of a best ever finish in the Southern Women’s League at the Linford Christie Stadium.
The Blue Stars ran out comfortable winners over South London, Thames Valley Harriers and Victoria Park to round off a successful first season for coaches Steve Pidgeon and Lindsay Cox, as Frances Parkes led the way with two personal bests.
Lauren Milnthorpe got the day off to a great start with a win in her first ever 400m hurdles race, clocking 69.8secs - before Parkes took over.
She strode away on the second lap of her 800m to win in a PB of 2mins 22secs before dipping under the minute mark for the first time in the 400m, clocking 59.1secs.
Kate Kaye again looked good in the 3000m, where she strode away from the rest of the field with three laps to go to win in 10m25.1s, in the B event Rebecca Adams was equally dominant winning in 11m39.6s.
Kate also took second places in the B string 400m (63.6s) and the A string 1500m (4m50.1s).
The returning Zoe Parsons, won the hammer with a throw of 33.49m and then went on to take second place in the B javelin with 19.13m.
Lucy Stickland, who took second place in the B string hammer with 24.80m went on to win the pole vault with a clearance of 3.00m, with Caitlin Ward winning the B event with 2.30m.
The under 15s performed well with a double win in the long jump, with Molly Adams winning the A event with a personal best 4.80m and Poppy Willis the B event with 4.29m. Newcomer Erin Bateman took the 800m in 2m37.3s and Emily Cox won the 75m hurdles in 12.8s. Lucy Milnthorpe having won the B javelin event with 16.30m also won the B string hurdles in 14.1s.
The 200m saw Kat Bajorinaite take second in the A string in 27.5s and Molly Adams close behind win the B event in 27.6s. Hannah Clark threw 26.80m to win the Discus, with Kat Bajorinaite winning the B event.
And the junior 4x100m team of Emily Cox, Molly Adams, Poppy Willis and Kat Bajorinaite equalled the club record of 52.2s in dominating the event.
The senior 4x400m team of Lauren Milnthorpe, Frances Parkes, Rhiannon Dunlop and Kate Kaye took second behind Thames Valley in 4m23.3s.
