Crawley professional boxer Ben Jones is to fight on the undercard of George Groves at the Wembley Arena on September 20.
Groves is fighting Christopher Rebasse for the European Super-Middleweight title which is to be broadcast on Sky TV.
Jones is fighting a Polish opponent for the IBA World Super-Featherweight Championship originally scheduled for tonight, Saturday, September 6 at the O2 Indigo in London.
His fans will now have to wait two extra weeks to see him and Jones will have to resume training, having already completed his programme.
Jones has said a big thank you to his sponsors on the eve of his World title fight.
During the run-up to the event which is the biggest fight of his career Ben has been training at K2 having been offered free use of their facilities by the centre’s operator Freedom Leisure.
Ben said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Freedom Leisure at K2 for providing me use of their superb facilities and also i-ride.co.uk for providing me with sports nutrition energy gels and drinks.”
Freedom Leisure Centre manager Nyssa Jackson said: “We are only too pleased to provide Ben with a place to train as he works towards his world title fight at the O2 indigo. Ben is local to K2 Crawley and we feel privileged that as an elite competitor he wishes to train here.
“He is making the most of our gym facilities and pool and watching him train here is certainly motivating for our members.
“We all wish him success when he competes for the IBA World Super Feather Weight title.”
