Jordan Levey’s nett 55 earned victory in the Horsham Golf & Fitness December medal, two shots ahead of Charlie Malsbury (gross 63), whith Philip Hedges (gross 75, nett 58) third, and Keith Rayner (gross 85, nett 59), fourth.

Meanwhile, Ron and Marion Smith, John Watling and Chris Meredith won the annual Horsham Golf & Fitness Gaffers Turkey Trot Texas Scramble in freezing conditions. They carded an eagle two, along with a number of birdies. In second place were Anne Thomas, Alex Cresswell and Colin Kimber, with Jo Battersby, Steve Barnett, Geoff Lunn and Ted Streeter third.

And the club’s annual prize giving followed the Texas Scramble, with Chris Purton presenting the 2012 Matchplay winners, Alex Cresswell and Mike Riley (pairs) and runners up, Maurice Jones (pairs) and Ian Davenport (singles) with their Trophies. John King, seniors captain, presented Trophies to Bev Field, ladies championship best gross, Jeremy Simpson men’s championship best gross and Steve Barnett men’s championship gross runner up.

Reflecting an improving handicap situation, only two Bandits were recognized for 2012, both Marion and Chris accepted miniature crocodile “Trophies” in good part.
