Matt shoots to West Chiltington championship joy
MATT Dean's aggregate three over par score was enough to be crowned West Chiltington Club Champion.
He followed up an opening round of 74 with a one under 69 to win by two clear strokes taking home both the scratch and handicap prizes, and the 24 year old admits it could reignite an old passion.
As a teenager, Matt had ambitions to turn professional and was playing off a one handicap. Growing up and the pressures of working full time put paid to that dream, but Matt keeps his hand in enough to still be a four handicapper.
"It was only at the last minute that I decided to play," Matt, from Thakeham, said. "And I somehow strung a couple of decent rounds together.
"I used to play every day, but now I'm probably only getting out once a month on average now."
