Mascot success for Horsham's Howie
HORSHAM FC mascot Howie Hornet has won his first race.
After previous finishes of third and second on multimple occasions, Howie sprinted clear from the start of Sunday's macot race at Fontwell to claim his first victory.
Old rivals Haydon the Womble and Southern Water's Ollie the Otter lined up at the racecourse, near Arundel.
Howie got a great start this time and sprinted clear of the field aided by a poor start by Ollie the Otter. Luckily the course had been slightly shortened due to the warm weather and Howie's old foe was unable to close to gap.
