Maggs slams pitch

HORSHAM manager John Maggs has seriously criticised the playing surface at Gorings Mead following Saturday's 1-0 loss to Kinsgtonian.

The pitch, which is also used and looked after by landlords Horsham YMCA cut up from the first whistle and players found it tough to keep the ball under control.

Maggs remarked: "We tried to play on an atrocious pitch. We have some decent footballers here and we could not play on a surface like that."

Carl Wilson-Dennis scored the only goal of the game as the Hornets remained in eigth in the Ryman Premier Division.
