Maggs admits Horsham were second best

HORNETS boss John Maggs conceded his team came up against a stronger unit in last night's 2-0 defeat to Sutton United.

Horsham were beaten thanks to goals from Craig Dundas and Richard Jolly, and barely mustered chances of their own in the 90 minutes.

Maggs said: "We were played off the pitch in the first half and we gave away a bad goal.

"There was some improvement in the second half but we came up against a very strong side with a very solid defence.

"We were totally committed on Saturday, but we needed a kick at half time."

Pat Harding's introduction at the break, along with Jack Page, saw the Hornets win more ball in the final third, and Horsham went close with a cute chip from Allan Tait.

Maggs added: "We had one or two opportunities which might have made it 1-1, but I think we have come up against a very strong squad tonight."
