Steyning Town demand two wins

Steyning Town's Dave Harris

Steyning Town's Dave Harris

teyning boss Richard Whittington is targeting maximum points from the next two games after seeing his side suffer double late goal heartbreak.

Town lost 4-2 at home against Westfield on Saturday after conceding twice in the last ten minutes, before Jake Holmes struck a late winner for Broadbridge Heath in Tuesday night’s derby.

The Barrowmen now face strugglers Rustington at the Shooting Field on Saturday, before travelling to Oakwood three days later.

Whittington said: “To say the last two games have been frustrating is an understatement. In both games we have put ourselves in a good position to take something from them and then have let it slip away. But it is important we don’t let it get to us too much and make sure we put things right quickly. I’m looking for wins from the next two games and, if we can achieve that, it would give us the confidence we need to really kick on.”
