LIVE: Horsham V Harrow Borough
Horsham 1 Budd 59 Harrow 0
DARREN Budd's fortuitous second half free kick saw Horsham sign off the season with a 1-0 win over bogey boys Harrow Borough.
After a poor 45 minutes it was a much brighter second half, and the game was settled by Budd's 35 yard effort which evaded everyone and ended up in the net.
Anthony Acheampong led a stirling defencive performance which ensured the Hornets ended a disappointing campaign on a high.
Mark Knee has been awarded supporter's player of the season at the end of the match.
90 mins: Savage stands the ball up for Budd to pick out Seanla with a searching ball over the top. His first touch takes him past his man but with only the keeper to beat his shot it weak. The angle was always against him to be fair.
87 mins: Some messy defending by the Hornets nearly has them in trouble. Watts breaks into the box but Peauroux is there to cover, but he scuffs his clearance causing panic in the box and only the referee's whistle saves further embaressment.
81 mins: Ryan Watts has looked lively in this second half and he has a deflected shot at goal which wrongfoots Tolfrey but the stopper is grateful when the ball boubles to him lying on the ground.
79 mins: Claude Seanla shows what he can do by skipping past Jinadu to race at goal but the ball takes a while to sit up for him and his eventual shot is tame.
72 mins: Harrow double sub: Dewayne Clarke and Gary Noel are hauled off for Jonathan Constant and Jamie Laurence.
The Lardy Boys are in good voice here today behind the Harrow goal. With the sun shining and their team infront they have every reason to be.
69 mins: The goal has really lifted Horsham here. A lovely move sees Savage so nearly put youngster Adam Hutchings in the clear but he handled the ball trying to get it under control.
66 mins: Harrow sub: Warren Whighly replaces Dean Fenton who has fizzled out in this second half.
65 mins: Horsham come so close to a second. Knee plays one over the top to Davis and sudenly it's two against one. Davis plays it across the goal to Savage who is unmarked, it's just behind him but Haddow is there but can only place it into the side netting.
59 mins: GOAL FOR HORSHAM. Darren Budd wakes everybody up with a touch of fortune about his free kick. He swung it towards goal from 35 yards out on the left, the Harrow defence let it bounce and it went through a crowd of bodies before ending up in the net.
56 mins: Tobi Jinadu has a rare forage forward and he's tempted to have a crack at goal from 30 yards. It's hard and on target but no problem for Tolfrey.
52 mins: Harrow on the attack again, this time Rob Tolfrey blocks a shot from Dewayne Clarke at close range after some nice build up by the visitors.
49 mins: Left back Ryan Watts digs out a great cross from the left byline which is met by the head of Gary Noel but he directs it just wide of the back post.
The second half gets under way, no changes for either side.
IT'S GOALLESS here at Woodside Road between Horsham and Harrow Borough after 45 minutes which had all the feel of a meaningless last game of the season.
Neither side have looked interested in winning the game, Steve Davis with a weak effort providing Hornet's only effort at goal.
The second half can only get better, surely?
Very little to report here...it definately has all the feel of a dead rubber here with neither side playing for anything other than an improved league position. Reggie Savage's body language looks like he'd rather be somewhere else at the minute.
Horsham are playing with just the three at the back today, Acheampong in the centre of Williams Peauroux and Eldridge. Knee and Haddow are operating on the flanks with three in the middle and Seanla and Savage up top.
28 mins: Darren Budd does well to flick the ball over Danny Leech's head and his chip into the area is flicked at goal by Claude Seanla but it's off target.
22 mins: Fenton outpaces Knee and then bundles his way past Russell Eldridge before cutting back from the right for James Fraser. He opts for the side foot and clears the bar from a good position, decent chance.
14 mins: Dean Fenton sends an effort whistling just over the crossbar for the visitors after making his way into the box on the right.
This is the Hornets last game of what has been a long season. They have shipped ten goals in two matches against today's hosts - a 6-1 drubbing earlier in the league followed by a 4-1 defeat in the Ryman League Cup, so this is a chance no end on a high and enact some sweet revenge.
5 mins: Darren Budd wins possession and slips Steve Davis behind the defence but from a tight angle on the left he hardly troubles Andray Baptiste in the Harrow sticks.
Horsham kick off playing from left to right under cracking sunshine here at Woodside Road, in what could be their last 'home' match here in Worthing.
