Late leveller denies Southwater victory

Under-18 - SOUTHWATER were moments away from wrapping up all three points in their 2-2 draw against Bosham.

In the first half, Ryan Grimes made a good save, Will Nash went close before Southwater went behind to a disputed goal. An improvement after the break saw Southwater hit back, and when Cameron Master’s free kick was met by James Amankwaa’s head, the Bosham keeper could only parry into his own net.

Kieran Neil teed up Fabio Sarlo for a volleyed finish before Bosham scrambled home their leveller.

Under-16

JOE SCALLAN’S powerful header was only a consolation for Horsham Sparrows in their 4-1 loss to Dorking.

Scallan and Zac Chinn went close in the first half but only after the Sparrows had fallen behind, three more goals after the break put Dorking in charge, and Scallan’s close range effort restored some pride.

GREG Gander set Royal United on their way to a comfortable 3-0 win against Twin Oaks.

He opened the scoring early on following a neat one-two with Tom Killner-Brown, who scored the third soon after Luke Polie netted the second. Keeper Aaron Chaplin was made man of the match for two super saves.

Under-15

LOWER Beeding Lions were pegged back by table toppers Copthorne before suffering a 4-2 defeat.

Liam Kidd’s header put the Lions in front at the break, only for Copthorne to add three inside 20 minutes. Andrew Roberts converted a penalty, but Lions conceded from the restart. Tom Bowie was man of the match.

Under-11

CHARLOTTE Simpson bagged a hat trick in Horsham Sparrows Girls’ 6-1 win at Crawley Town Girls (Sparrows team pictured)

Other goals came from Ellie Hutchinson and Liberty Farley-Dove, while Madeleine Davies was named player of the match.

Under-seven

HENFIELD battled well in matches against Steyning Strikers and Ockley Acorns. Sam Arnold and Cameron Young were on the scorehseet.
