Joyce looks to close out Sussex victory
ED Joyce believes Sussex can wrap up victory against Derbyshire in the County Championship match at Horsham tomorrow.
Sussex declared on 576-3 in reply to Derbyshire's first innings 242 all out on a totally dominant second day.
Two Derbyshire wickets then fell before stumps as they closed on 27-2, still 307 runs short of making the home side bat again.
Joyce, one of four history making centurions on the day, wants Sussex to display a ruthless streak tomorrow.
He said: "The way we are bowling, I am quite confident of wrapping it up tomorrow.
"Even if they bat really well tomorrow and go past us, we are still confident we are able to win."
Ben Brown (110) Chris Nash (156), Joyce (164) and Murray Goodwin (100 not out) ensured the top four Sussex batsmen had scored centuries in the same innings for the first time.
Joyce also scored a century at Cricetfield Road last year against Nottinghamshire, and reserved praise for Ben Brown, who scored his maiden County Championship ton.
He remarked: "It's always nice to come back to a ground where you have good memories.
"It is a really good wicket to bat on, but there is a little bit there for the bowlers too.
"Nashy (Nash) and myself are building a really good opening partnership. "Today was about Ben, I'm really pleased for him, to come in and play the way he did."
