Horsham boss hopes to hang on to skipper

JOHN Maggs is confident Horsham captain Sam Page will remain at the club next season - despite interest from a League club.

The Hornets manager is due to sit down with the unnamed club and Page next week to discuss a possible move.

But Maggs is hopeful that if a deal is done, it wont be the last fans have seen of imposing centre back Page.

He said: "We might be able to come to an agreement which means he signs for them, and plays for us until he is ready for the first team. I'm sure our skipper will be playing for us."

Meanwhile, Maggs has persuaded the versatile Russell Eldridge to commit to another season with Horsham.

Eldridge played across the back line and in midfield last season.

Maggs said: "I'm delighted with that. He is a good utility player."
