TONY NWACHUKWU is battling to be fit for Horsham’s trip to Concord Rangers this weekend.

The young winger has missed Horsham’s last four games after suffering a hamstring injury when he came on as a substitute in the defeat to Lowestoft earlier this month.

Hornets boss Hugo Langton said: “We’re hoping he’ll be OK, he’s been having plenty of treatment on his hamstring from Andi (Marfleet, the club physio), and they’ll be no special treatment for him in training.”

French midfielder Williams Peauroux returns from suspension after missing Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Hendon, meaning youngster Adam Hutchings is likely to drop back to the bench. Defender Jake Jacobs is expected to miss out because of personal problems, if he does fellow youngster, striker Dean O’Keefe, is expected to take his place in the squad as a substitute.

Saturday’s mid-table hosts Concord Rangers have been impressive of late, beating promotion candidates Bury Town (4-2) and Kingstonian (1-0) in their last two games, and Langton has highlighted the threat their top scorer poses.

He said: “What a run they’re on at the moment, I said it about Hendon but Concord are flying at the moment.

“They’ve got some fantastic players, especially Tony Stokes, their left winger. They are big and strong but like all the teams they have an Achilles heel and we’ll be looking to exploit it.

“We’re not going to sit back, we’ll go there and attack and have a go,” he added.

Langton is still looking for his first league victory since taking over as manager and Horsham have not won a Ryman Premier game since August. Concord won the reverse fixture at Gorings Mead 3-0 when Horsham were managed by Justin Luchford.
