Fans favourite Tony Nwachukwu has signed a contract with Horsham until the end of the season.

The pacy winger and Hornets’ top goalscorer this season has made 195 appearances for his hometown club, scoring 53 goals and celebrating most of those with his characteristic somersault.

Player-manager Gary Charman said: “After speaking to the board last week they were happy to put him on contract, and Tony was keen to commit, despite other club’s coming in for him.

“He’s worked really hard, has shown a lot of commitment to Horsham FC and fully deserves this.”

It comes as a big plus for Horsham after the news emerged last night that captain Jamie Cade has quit the club.

The striker has called time on his Hornets career temporarily to concentrate on work commitments.
