Loxwood fall at Midhurst while Roffey recover against Uckfield

Despite taking an early lead, Loxwood lost 4-2 away to fellow midtable side Midhurst & Easebourne in Sussex County League Division 2 last night.

Matt Dingle gave them the advantage in the 13th minute but the home side equalised through Rob Wimble 15 minutes later.

Loxwood went further behind through two more goals either side of half-time putaway by Sean Dummer and Wimble.

Loxwood made it 3-2 with a 61st minute strike before Midhurst added a last minute fourth goal.

In Division 3 Roffey fought back from going 2-0 behind to draw 2-2 at home to Uckfield.

Murrey Heywood and Ross Porter gave Uckfield the lead with two goals early in the second half.

Jason Barbour and James Hancock scored two goals in the last 15 minutes to earn a point which puts them in eighth in the table.

Loxwood are at home to Seaford Town on Saturday, kick-off 3pm although the game is going to be staged at Storrington’s ground, while Roffey host Ferring.

On Bank Holiday Monday Roffey are at home against title chasers Haywards Heath Town, kick-off 11am.
