Hornets boss Simon Colbran struggled to find anything positive from Saturday’s final pre-season game at Thamesmead Town.
And in a day to forget there were injuries to Tony Nwachukwu, Matt Simpson and Wayne Clarke, with Clarke definitely out of this Saturday’s opener against Corinthian Casuals.
“I don’t want to say too much about the game other than discussions took place between myself and Gary (Charman, assistant manager) and the players after the game,” Colbran said.
“We told them the situation and it’s as simple as that.
“I don’t want to be negative but the only real positive to take from it is it happened in our last pre-season game and not our first proper match of the new season.
Horsham have one final in-house warm-up before Saturday and hinting that changes to the squad could be made Colbran said: “Pre-season is about learning things and to get things right for the first game and I learned a lot from Saturday, but just not for the right reasons.
“I have learned a lot and now know what needs to be done.”
