Horsham YMCA will speak to Three Bridges about the possibility of extending Elliott Romain’s one-month loan deal.
Romain scored four times on Tuesday night as YM beat Chichester 6-3 in filthy weather conditions, while strike partner Martin Smith was also on the scoresheet and Liam Hunter curled home his third free-kick in three matches.
Manager Peter Buckland said: “I will be having the conversation with Bridges. Elliott is an exceptional talent, I would like to have him as long as I can.”
Romain was initially brought in as cover for Lee Smith, who was expected to be out for up to six weeks, and has scored six goals already.
“I will have the conversation with Three Bridges and will respect whatever decisino they make,” Buckland added. “I appreciate them even letting him come here in the first place.”
In tricky conditions at Chichester, YM went into the break 3-3 after Scott Dormer’s hat trick was cancelled out by Romain’s brace and Hunter’s strike. Buckland’s side stepped it up after the break, and Smith added the gloss with a classy lob for the sixth.
Buckland said: “The forwards got the glory and it was the midfield who slogged their guts out.”
