After last week’s goal fest, Horsham YMCA failed to find their scoring boots in a 0-0 draw against Eastbourne United AFC on Saturday.
The hosts dominated an entertaining encounter for the majority of the 90 minutes and created the better chances, but could not find a way past United goalkeeper Russ Tanner.
YM manager Peter Buckland commented: “I thought first and foremost that the game was an absolutely brilliant advert for County League Division 1 football. The quality of the game was superb.
“It’s an old cliché, but I would have gladly swapped one of our eleven goals last week for a goal today. We dominated possession and created the most chances, but when you are pressing a game at home you might get caught out at the back, which nearly happened a couple of times.
“I seriously consider it two points dropped rather than a point gained, but I think they (Eastbourne) will consider it as a point gained away from home.”
