Broadbridge Heath were accused of over-elaborating in their 2-1 defeat to Westfield in Sussex County Division 2 on Saturday,
Steve Painter’s side carved out a succession of chances but could not add to Dan Attwater’s seventh goal of the season, and were hit by two sucker-punches from Jethro Warren as the hosts took the points.
Painter said: “If you don’t score goals you can’t win games.
“We missed three sitters from about six yards, we are not taking our chances, we had enough to win three games of football.
“We are trying to walk the ball in, we are truying to overplay, perhaps it is a bit of the Arsenal syndrome. We have to smash the back of the ball sometimes.”
Heath were promoted from Division 3 after finishing fifth, thanks to a shake-up of the County League, and have made a good start to life back in Division 2 - currently sitting seventh.
Painter added: “I don;t think anyone creates as much as us. Nobody has played us off the park.”
