HORSHAM YMCA manager John Cumberbatch admits keeping the side in the Ryman League will be virtually impossible after suffering their latest defeat at Fleet Town on Tuesday night.

The 4-2 defeat, the side’s 22nd of the season, sees YM rooted to the table, nine points adrift of the nearest team having played three games more.

Cumberbatch was left frustrated by some dire defending from his side which gifted Fleet three of their four goals.

The main positive for the visitors was the performance of new signing Ashley Robinson, who caused the hosts problems throughout and helped himself to two well struck goals.

Cumberbatch said: “At Christmas it (staying up) was looking very difficult, we needed to start picking up points, and it’s now looking near on impossible because every time we’ve picked up points the four or five teams around us have done the same.

“The sides around us have all improved and we haven’t really made up any ground, but until it’s mathematically impossible I’m not going to allow the team to look at the table and say it’s impossible and take it easy, that just can’t happen.”
