A STUNNING fightback saw Horsham Sparrows Ladies recover from 2-0 down in an entertaining 5-5 draw against Predators.
The Sparrows were unfortunate to go into the break two goals behind, with Chloe Ansell and Natalie Jennings hitting the woodwork. Ansell hit the post with a free kick and Jennings the bar from a corner.
Lucy Sharpe dragged the Sparrows back into it when superbly played through by player of the match Ansell, and she then netted the leveller with a near post header from Serena Everett’s corner.
Predators went back in front, but Sharpe completed her hat trick to equalise again. Everett’s cross was then met by Ansell to put Sparrows in front for the first time in the game.
Sparrows’ defence of Sarah Rose, Georgia Malins, Elizabeth Sharpe and Emma Cooper were kept busy but couldn’t prevent Predators equalising from a free kick.
Liz Ogden and Liana Brooksbank drove Sparrows forward again, and when Paris White’s long range volley flew in, it looked like victory was assured. But Predators equalised with virtually the final kick of the game.
