SERENA Everett produced a five star display as Horsham Sparrows Ladies made it 22 goals in two weeks.
She netted five goals as the Sparrows followed up their 13-0 win last week with a 9-3 victory against Ferring Ladies.
Sparrows went behind early on but equalised when Paris White’s cross shot was turned in by a defender. Sparrows then fell 3 – 1 behind before Everett scored twice, one from 25 years out, to level the scores at half time.
The defence of Carys Dunn, Elizabeth Sharpe and Emma Cooper shut out Ferring in the second half, aided by some fine saves from Liana Brooksbank. The solid base enabled Sparrows to push forward and Everett added another two goals before Lucy Sharpe, who had gone close on a couple of occasions, converted White’s cross and then slipped the ball past the keeper following Chloe Ansell’s superb through ball.
There was a fine debut performance from Natalie Jennings on the left and Liz Ogden dominated in midfield. Everett then capped off a player of the match performance with her fifth goal and Lucy Sharpe completed her hat trick to round off an emphatic 9–3 win.
