Rooks’ season ends in defeat

A MISERABLE league campaign came to a close for Lewes with a 3-0 defeat at Boreham Wood.

Having had their relegated to the Ryman Premier already confirmed with an Easter Monday defeat to Bishop’s Stortford, Lewes went into the game knowing a win could see them finish third from bottom.

Lewes were well in the game until Gareth Risbridger struck for Wood on the stroke of half time, and goals from Luke Wilkinson and Luke Garrard in the second half sealed the visitor’s fate.

Lewes manager Tim O’Shea and his players shook the travelling fans hands at the end of the game in a heart-warming gesture, thanking them for their support over the course of a difficult season.
