Roffey came within six minutes of a notable scalp of Friday night when they were held at leaders Haywards Heath.
Andy Lampard had given the Horsham side a 2-1 lead nine minutes from time, and although that was wiped out by Kieron Purkis, general manager Graham Powell was delighted with the draw.
He said: “I would have taken a point before travelling down there. They came out at us like a top side, so I am happy. The lads responded well after the first half and I think a draw was a fair reflection.”
The hosts went ahead through Sean Ardley in thr 42nd and Roffey hads Mike Norris to thank for keeping ths score down at the break.
Powell’d men emerged a different side, and when Chris Dumrill found some space he produced a neat finish to haul Roffey level.
Lampard had gone close twice before Dumbrill’s strike - but found the net from close-range when teed-up by Dumbrill’s Roffey’s hopes were dashed though three minutes later when Purkis netted.
