Steve Painter is refusing to complain despite his side suffering an injury-plagued start to the season.

Kieron Purkiss and Tiago Andrade are amongst seven players that remain sidelined for Broadbridge Heath, who were without a goalkeeper for their FA Vase clash at the weekend.

The experienced Matt Carruthers, however, has signed and Painter said: “No side in Division 1 could lose four or five attacking options and not be in trouble. Credit to all the lads though as we have still held are own.

“I am really positive and upbeat about the season. We are going well and have some important players to come back.

“We are not having the best of luck, but I am not moaning and certainly not blaming injuries for any defeats especially not getting beat at Hassocks.”
