Manager Paul Cooper and assistant Steve Barrow have ‘called it a day’ at Billingshurst after just five months at the helm, the club said last night.
The duo took over the County League Division 3 side in June and had led the Jubilee Fields side to second in the table.
Their last game in charge was Saturday’s 8-2 thumping of Clymping, but it has been reported they are likely to be taking up a role at struggling Division 1 side Crawley Down Gatwick.
An official statement on the Billingshurst website read: “Paul and Steve have decided to call it a day with the club and taken up the reins at lowly County One side Crawley Down Gatwick.
“The ambitious duo are keen to try their hand at a higher level and due to the change at CDG, they decided to take up their offer.
“They go with our best wishes, having recently guided the side to a creditable second place in the division.”
