A DELIGHTED John Maggs saluted his Horsham heroes after yesterday’s 3-1 win at Kingstonian in the Ryman Premier.
Shane Graham, Pat Harding and Anthony Storey scored as the Hornets won for the third successive league match. Even more satisfying was the fact Horsham were missing five first team regulars through suspension, and still proved more than a match for their fourth placed hosts.
Maggs declared: “All credit to the team, every player on that pitch deserves so much credit.
“I have had to somehow put a side together. We go a goal down and you think that’s when the floodgates open. But we showed true character and scored three really good goals. I tell you what, when we get everyone back we are going to be a force, I always thought we were in a false position.”
Hassan Nyang, who left in the summer for Tooting, was brought in and shone as emergency cover, and Maggs admits he now has a problem to solve.
“I have really got to go and talk to Hassan now, he can play anywhere and has really helped us out big time,” Maggs said. “We have signed him, but there is no money.”
