Loxwood suffered just their third defeat of the season in Division 1 on Saturday as they were humbled by tipped title favourites Littlehampton.

It was an uncharacteristic 5-1 loss for the Magpies who were downed for only their second defeat in 19 games in all competitions.

Having been in scintillating form in recent week’s Dave Cocoracchio’s side would have been hoping to show their credentials against the Golds.

The home side, however, led after just five minutes as Keiron Pamment put them ahead. Dean Wright levelled on 17 minutes, but Pamment fired the hosts back ahead three minutes later.

George Landais gave the third-placed team a two-goal cushion just after the half-hour mark and added a fourth four minutes into the second half.

Landais completed his second hat-trick in as many matches with nine minutes remaining. Loxwood now host Lancing on Saturday.
