Loxwood seek improvement in front of goal

Loxwood FC have been told to work on their finishing after settling for a point in their Sussex County league Division 2 trip to Westfield on Saturday.

The Magpies raced into the lead after a bright start, Anthony Beddows lined-up a free kick from the edge of the box, and a slight deflection saw his effort diverted into the Westfield net.

But the lead did not last long, just 60 seconds in fact.

The hosts struck back in the 11th minute, when a free kick punted forward caused chaos in the Loxwood box, and while Smith was crowded out, Ashley Paine rose highest to nod Westfield level.

Miller, whose side are searching for a first win after two draws, added: “There was not a lot wrong with the performance, we need to improve our finishing and we will get the results we deserve.”
