LOXWOOD are relishing the chance to play with no pressure as their march up the Sussex County League Division 2 table continued on Saturday.
A 2-0 defeat of Eastbourne United extended the Magpies’ unbeaten run to seven games, and a top four finish is almost within their grasp.
Phil Awcock’s wonder goal and another Damon Aston strike proved enough to take the points back to Plaistow Road, and assistant manager Julian Miller says it is important to finish the season on a high.
He said: “A lot of people here have indicated they want to be here next season and it makes it a lot easier when we are all pulling in the same direction. It makes it easier when talking to players about next season if you finish well.
“There is no pressure on the players, we just want to do the best we can now. Saturday was a very good performance.”
