HORSHAM YMCA boss Sammy Donnelly remained positive despite watching his side lose a 3-1 lead with two last-gasp goals from County League Division 1 high-flyers Pagham.
Donnelly insisted his troops were heading the right direction after what he labelled ‘a hell of a performance’ in the draw.
A Dan Smith penalty and goals from Dean Wright and Nick Sullivan looked to have set YM on their way to a tenth win this season, but two aginising late strikes from Pagham’s Darren Peaerce and James Temple stole a point.
“I’ve got nothing but praise for the lads,” Donnelly declared. “Let’s not forget this is our third game we haven’t lost in a row, and all against good opposition. Yes, the minuses are that we were 3-1 up with probably three minutes to go, and I do see it as two points lost, but against opposition that are meant to win the league, it was a hell of a performance from the guys.”
