HORSHAM FC mascot Howie Hornets aims to do the town proud at next weekend’s Mascot Olympics.

The fundraising event, held in Milton Keynes, will see Howie take part in events such as welly wanging, penalty shootout and a test of strength, as he attempts to improve upon last year’s finish.

Howie will be joined by more than 25 other mascots from the world of sport for the event which raises cash for the Milton Keynes Play Association.

Matt Haynes, aka Howie, said: “Howie has been training hard for the past six months and wants to come home with the title of Mascot Olympic Champion 2011. There is great friendly rivalry between mascots but deep down they all want the ultimate prize.”
