JOHN Maggs believes the late point Horsham secured at Cray Wanderers in a 1-1 draw on Saturday could prove crucial in the Ryman League relegation shake up.
Cray went ahead through Joe Vines and could have added further goals before the break. But after a few stern words from their manager, Horsham produced a battling display which saw Anthony Storey score the leveller from the penalty spot.
Maggs said: “We were under par with out work rate in the first half. I dug the lads out at half time and I thought they put in a good shift in the second half. There was no arguing with the penalty and we deserved the point.
“I would have taken a point coming to Cray before the game, and with the goal difference the way it is, the points at the end of the season could be absolutely crucial.”
