HORSHAM’S match at home to Croydon Athletic in the Ryman Premier Division has been called off following a pitch inspection.

It was ruled that although the playing surface was largely in a good condition, the match referee could not gaurantee players would not suffer injuries.

Secretary John Lines said: “The pitch overall is playable, but there are too many divots that have not been rolled into the ground which have been frozen and the referee thought that could turn someone’s ankle.”

Meanwhile, Horsham YMCA manager John Cumberbatch will get to take charge of the team for the first time when they take on Ryman Division 1 South high flyers Whitehawk.
