Gary Charman is set for a return to Horsham FC, a year after his departure.
The fans’ favourite quit to test himself in the Blue Square South with Eastbourne Borough 12 months ago, and his release at the end of last season prompted a concerted effort to bring him back to Gorings Mead. Charman has played more than 450 times for Horsham and scored more than 100 Ryman League goals in two spells spanning a decade.
Charman will be sponsored by Horsham’s fans, which has ensured his return.
Manager Simon Colbran said: “He is obviously strong and committed and he has the other side of the game, he can get it down and play.
“His experience is valuable and the younger players can learn from him. Gary is respected as one of the best non-league players in Sussex over the last couple of years, his heart has always been at Horsham and he is a major signing for us.”
