HORSHAM’S Ryman Premier Division status was secured yesterday in emphatic style.
A 4-2 defeat of Croydon Athletic made results elsewhere irrelevant, with the three points more than enough to guarantee survival.
Manager John Maggs said: “I am so pleased we could do it ourselves without relying on other results.
“I thought we were excellent in the second 45, in really hot conditions, we took total control of the game and it showed.
“I think we have really ground it out towards the end of the season, there have been some great draws which always added to the total.”
Jamie Cade bagged a brace while Tom Graves and a Kevin Sefaah own goal completed the 4-2 win, which when combined with defeats for Aveley and Hastings, meant Horsham could not be caught.
